Ethernet port led colors different on mobo and router?

So I use an Ethernet connection for my pc, and on the mobo it has amber and a yellowish light on that blink at different rates and the router has two green lights rapidly blinking at the same time.

What's happening?

And secondly, what do these mean?

read the manual to see what the light mean

Read through it about 3 times (skipping the software stuff) and there is literally nothing about those lights. Not sure if it's because of the mobo company. (Chose biostar because of the frequent statement mentioned for people who want help on their builds, "don't skimp on the psu", so I had to get this crappy one.). All of the goods ones were out of stock because it was the holiday season.

The mobo is a Biostar B250GT5. The router...im not sure if its wrong, but it goes along the lines of Actiontec mi424wr rev. 1. Its a router from Verizon...so...ya, best guess.

Sorry for double posting, but would plugging the cable into the LAN port instead of the typical Ethernet port have any effect or change? Better or worse, nice to know.

Thanks for that. I found info on the mobo and its apparently just a notification that traffic is occurring. So the main question is solved. but, do you know the answer to my last comment?

Yeah, basically, my question was "what is the difference between plugging my cable into either the LAN port or what looks to be a regular Ethernet port below it?".
