I have an Asus Rog Strix z390-e motherboard in my current build. I have had this build for a few years. There was a bad storm two nights ago and my PC shut off. When I booted it back up it booted fine but my ethernet connection would not work. I have had ATT come look at it and it's the port on the motherboard as the port on my wall works fine plugged into my laptop.

What is the easiest/ cheapest way to fix the port? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The port isn't the issue, very likely the NIC responsible for your Ethernet port got taken out. If so, then the board's on it's way out as well. The cheapest fix would be source an Ethernet adapter/card and drop it into your system.

Something like this;
or cheaper.

Dang. bought this thing new 4 years ago. I assume this adapter is compatible with my motherboard? Will I still get the same speed?
