Question Ethernet switch and landline.

Hello! I am about to get a job where im required to have a land line but, the modem is in a room that can't be moved. I have an ethernet switch device so I can hardwire my desktops in other rooms. Can I connect an adaptor to the ethernet switch to allow a landline to be plugged in and work? I have searched all over and found nothing. Please help. D:

Without knowing much, the answer is no. If you can state the make and model of your modem and the switch, perhaps but a Switch will not operate with a landline.
