[SOLVED] Ethernet Switch - confused with ports?

Hi all, I need to split one Ethenet port into 4 devices in my theatre room.
I was looking at potentially this model - TP-Link TL-SG108
But my question is, in which port do I plug the input ethernet cable?
Does it matter?

Does not matter.

Just for general configuration, I always plug the cable going to the uplink into port #1.
That way, whatever switch I'm looking at, I know where the uplink cable is.

Let me clarify - Does not matter, unless the manufacturer says it does in the user manual...
None of my inexpensive unmanaged switches matter.
