I've been attempting to connect to the internet using ethernet but to no avail. I have the ethernet cable hooked up from the router to the LAN port (assuming that is what you are supposed to do). No light flashes are coming from the cable either. I went into device manager on Windows 10 and found something called the "Ethernet controller" and tried to update the driver. It said it would scan the computer and the internet, but it can't get to the internet because there is no wireless network card. Please help!

OK, so unzip that folder to somewhere.
Either there is an exe inside that
or
If you tell Windows to install a driver, navigate to that location you unzipped it.

There is no driver installed. I don't know how to find the driver online other than search for it. I'm sure I could download it onto a flash drive and install but I don't know how to find it online. I found a couple of drivers for LAN for my motherboard (MSI Z97 Gaming 5). Should I try these?

usually its an exe file

is it large or small size?

if its large--ie over say 25mb then it should have an exe that installs the driver and networking software

if its small then make a new folder and unzip it into that

then go to device manager and go through the manual install pointing it to that folder when it asks for driver location
