[citation][nom]kidamnesiac[/nom]If this is being done for browsers, then why not for other apps? I mean, what about Notepad or Wordpad? There are other vendors out there who make text editors. And then what about Paint or Calc? Come on. You want a ballot for every single app included in Windows? Where does it end? It's all a bunch of BS. Microsoft's Windows, Microsoft's choice to include what they want. If you want a different browser, if something is bothering you about IE, then do some freakin' research. It's not that hard to Google the topic.[/citation]

Maybe YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND the word "MONEY".... you can't really make money out of notepad or paint yet.... so thats why no one is claiming anything....

But with browser.... why do you think yahoo and ms are making a 10 years deal??? what do you think IE8 search engine will be by default? probably not google!

If Microsfot makes the OS they can have IE built into that OS (period). They are not stopping you from getting another browser in any way shape or form. They have had it in the OS builds since God knows when just as all other OSs have a browser in thier OS. I guess the EU should sue Apple since the iPhone and iPod Touch both have browsers built in and THEY WILL NOT LET YOU CHANGE IT.

[citation][nom]Hanin33[/nom]it seems like hardly anyone commenting on this was coherent during the time browsers weren't free and microsoft's crap wasn't integrated into the OS so deeply that it could not be practically removed.[/citation]

I remember downloading Netscape Navigator for Windows 3.1. That was free. And as far as I remember, IE didn't even exist at that time yet. So I don't see where you're going.

What's next? Windows Explorer, TCP/IP stack, Media Player, File System...

People use Windows because of what it offers.

Has the EU done anything good? Seriously I am asking and I want an answer. I went to Europe this summer and everyone has been telling the cost of living has increased dramatically and how everything use to be better before EU showed up.
