Every time I update my intel HD 4600 drivers my screen goes black at bootup.

I just recently built a pc and I don't yet own a gpu. I installed a couple games from steam and none of them worked, one of which opened an error window telling me to update graphics drivers. I installed drivers from the intel application I downloaded off their website. When it finished it restarted my computer, but right when the "windows is starting up" screen should transition the log in screen, it goes black, and their is nothing I can do. I have already re-installed windows 3 times. I am still able to get into the safe mode though. Is there something wrong with my hardware? Or am I just too incompetent? Thank you in advance

If you can get into safe mode, uninstall and delete the driver for the IGP that you installed. Reboot, and let windows pick up the driver.

Try downloading and installing this one. This driver is the latest and should work in 7, 8.1 or 10 64bit.

When I open the installer it says my system doesn't meet the requirements: My system specs are:
I5 4460
Asrock B85 Pro4
8gb 1600 ram
550 watt psu
120gb ssd

What version of Windows are you running? Is it 32bit or 64bit?

I have windows 7 proffesional 64 bit

Well that is the latest driver for that specific IGP. You can try a older one but it is acting like you either have a different IGP or an OEM that stops you from installing Intel drivers and can only install OEM drivers.

I think I may have messed something up while uninstalling the drivers for my IGP while booted in safe mode. I will reinstall windows tomorrow, hopefully it will work again after that. And I will then proceed with installing the version you linked.
