So I noticed the other day that everything was saving to my SSD, I kind of put off fixing it, but today it became completely full. I've tried to check out online what I should do but haven't really found a good answer. How do I get all of my programs & games from my SSD to my hard drive and how do I ensure that stuff starts saving to my hard drive? Do I have to manually change the directory each time?

By your description, I presume you ahve an SSD and a separate hard drive installed in your computer.

When you say "saving" to the SSD do you mean that by default it is saving any downloaded or saved files to a folder on the SSD, or do you mean that when you install a new app or game it is defaulting to the SSD as the install/save location?

If you mean when installing apps and games it is defaulting to the SSD then you need to change the installation location when installing said app or game.

If you mean when downloading or saving files, then (again) you need to change the default location either by 1) when downloading go into your browser properties and changing the default locations for saved/dl'd files, or 2) when windows prompts you to save the file location choose the hard drive instead of the SSD.

I mean literally everything is being saved to the SSD. All Program Files. The 2TB Hard drive I have is completely empty. I understand choosing the HD each time save something (which I will start doing from here out), but is there no way to, for example, set steam to download games to the HD by default? and how do I go about transferring the 256GB of data that's wrecking my SSD over to my HD where it should be?

Haven't messed with Steam in a while, so not sure what the options are as far as install locations. You might just have to see what options there are available. Maybe hit the Steam forums.

As far as apps and games that are already installed, technically, you can copy/paste the program file info to the HD but then would have to remake any shortcuts and run the risk of losing file associations. This largely depends on the game or app and whether all the files are self contained or if the app writes files to the Windows specific folders.

Unfortunately, what you may have to do is re-install the games and apps anew. For the games, most of the time the save games and game data are stored somewhere in "My Documents" and can be literally saved and reloaded if necessary; I've done this in the past when having to re-install due to a corrupt initial install. Other non-game apps will most likely have to be re-installed choosing the HD as the install location.

Steam: You can have multiple locations for game installs. They do not have to live on the same drive with the Steam client
Applications: Simply choose what drive you want it to be on. Some you DO want on the SSD.

If you play a lot of games, I expect your issue is simply too many games in the default games folder on the SSD. Change that.
What size SSD is it? How much free space is there?
