I recently just bought a evga 2070 super xc hybrid. When I installed the card and ran precision x1 for they’re overclock my computer would shut down once it got to the end of the test? I have a 650w power supply which is the minimum requirement. But I’m only using 474w total. What can I do to fix this?

Did you change the power setting in the Nvidia control panel? I know if I leave it on default any overclock crashes my PC because it's fighting to clock down the card. You have to set it to "maximum performance." Worth a shot...

Ok so what I did was on my psu there are 2 separate PCIe cables. Each cable has a 8 pin and a 6+2 pin. The 2070 super uses a 8 and a 6 pin. Originally I had the. 8 and 6 pin on there own separate PCIe cable. I just now added them both to the same cable and now precision x1 runs the test all the way thru and applies the overclock. But now I’m idle if at 1605 MHz. Is this normal?

Seasonic s12lll 650w (80 bronze). I went into bios and checked the wattages and everything is good there. Now my gpu is idling at normal. I don’t understand why it’s better for me to run both power chords for the gpu to one single PCIe cable instead of there own individual cables
