Evga 66o ti vs. Msi 660 ti?

So I have these two graphics cards in kind but I don't know which one i should go for. Both are in my price range. I'm basing my purchase on preformance and if the card will keep itself cool enough running games on a high fps on max settings.

These are my two picks:

the first one has 3gigs of vram. a bonus if you're planning on running multiple monitors in the future.

personally I never liked msi anything. and don't care too much for EVGA after they dropped the lifetime warranty, but would choose that "manufacturer" first.

other poster, there is a difference between those 2 cards ( ti vs non ti )......... ti is made the same as the 670. non ti is a different chip. But also a good card.

forgot to mention......... the "stock" cooling allows these cards to stay hot. you should go back and look for something that would run cooler. Maybe a Galaxy brand?

Nah, when people give me suggestions I look into them and compare them to the ones I've found myself. Just because someone gives me a name of an item doesn't mean I would go out and get it without taking it into consideration and comparing it. I just asked because I'm open to suggestions and I wouldn't want to spend that much money and find out there's something better than the one I bought for around the same price

both cards tested, head to head:
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 Ti Video Card Review w/ ASUS, EVGA & MSI

cliff notes:
performance ~ equal
power consumption EVGA is lower
temperature MSI is lower
overclocking MSI is slightly higher

now as far as the Vram; my POV is if you are looking to go SLI in the future than 4 > 2 and use 3 monitors. but to game on two monitors; unless i am missing something even with bezel correction, i can't see having a space in the middle. . .

In six months or less, you will find that with the same money you can get a better GPU. That's the technology world, always change to something better and sometimes more cheap.

Do you want my advice? MSI > ASUS > EVGA > Gigabyte. From all those you can get very good GPUs, I prefer MSI from those two options for some reasons: Cooler, performance, overclocking potential and price.

I tested that MSI GPU and the performance is amazing for the money that you pay.

Ever since my last amd card. (MSI 7870) I'll never go MSI again. Twin Frozer sounded like a plane taking off.

OP: In the end you'll still have the same gpu, ect no matter what brand you go with. My advise is get the cheapest one you can find that has good rating. Its kind of like which tard has the bigger fart can and intake on their civic. Its still a civic.

I would suggest you go with the Msi version, I see how the Evga has 3 gigs of ram but most importantly you cant overclock that card whole a lot since its cooling is not the greatest while as the Msi is very overclock friendly. The 3gb of ram wouldnt be as helpful compared to the crazy overclocks you can do with the msi part.

P.S I might be wrong but I think any game atm wouldn't really need 3 gigs of ram but could definitely use the extra clock speed. Well good luck 😉

Only reason you'd need a "crazy" OC is if you needed to run at 120hz and 3d vision which btw you'd want the 3gigs of memory and probably a gtx 670 anyways. Either card you listed should allow you to OC the memory to at lease 6,800 which is what this card needs. Go with the cheapest one from one of the four brands listed.

Did you checked the link? Because based on your "Go with the cheapest one", the MSI is the winner in that for $30 less than EVGA model, something that also goes in opposite with your other statement " I'll never go MSI again. Twin Frozer sounded like a plane taking off."

Yes, I wouldn't go MSI; however, that is me and many have found MSI to be good.

Yes, I did check the prices. If it were me I'd go EVGA because to me it is quite and OCed just fine.

Again, I'm not the one buying. The OP is. I stated clearly why I wouldn't buy MSI again.

How does it go against my statement? I stated go with the cheapest and that >>>I<<< wouldn't go MSI.
