EVGA is privately owned.i have not seen anything from any source but i wonder what they are telling their stock holders. that would be the best info to know.
they have to (well are supposed to) tell them the truth about what is going on. so just curious but not enough to google it myself. ; - )
There's a video over on GN where Steve is talking to the EVGA BIOS team and KingPin and the last question Steve asks is, "What is the next project." Kingpin's response:While they haven't given a time frame they've said on their forums that they're working on 14th gen support for Z690/Z790. This is sounding more and more like a last hurrah type of situation though.
That would be like jumping from the frying pan into the fire.I was really hoping when they first announced the break with nvidia that Intel would step in. As long as they were willing to let the company keep operating the same that would have been a huge marketing coup.
According to the rumor, EVGA's personnel from the Taiwan office, including legendary overclocker Vince "K|NGP|N" Lucido, resigned
EVGA's demise has nothing to do with Nvidia. The CEO doesn't want to put in the time it takes to run the company any more, and refuses to sell, so he is winding down operations gradually.Another victim of ngreedia business practices.
Most, if not all, other partners have in house manufacturing so their margins are better than EVGA's were. The sheer market dominance of nvidia will keep partners there until that changes. As it is MSI, Gigabyte and Asus (Yeston too, but they have more limited footprint) all make AMD cards as well and are big enough businesses I doubt nvidia can push them around as much as the others. When you look at the NGreedia margins over the years, and the partner margins over the same years, it is a wonder that EVGA lasted as long as they did. It would be no surprise to see more partners bail.
No doubt EVGA has come on bad or hard times. Cash and continued private investor funds and their needed infusions have most definitely slowed. Being a continued and frequent EVGA buyer myself with many of their products including a recent 'splurge' for a Z790 Kingpin, I am finding that even their Forums and its commentaries are slowly drying-up. Conversations at our latest local computer show surfaced that EVGA and with customers seeking services are finding harder or more stringent times with RMA’s, warrenties and other such returns!I would love it if Razer bought EVGA and went into the PC business.
Most if not all are using the same board manufacturers (e.g. Foxconn) as EVGA were, and as Nvidia themselves use. Most, if not all, other partners have in house manufacturing so their margins are better than EVGA's were. Who does manufacturing for PNY? Nvidia has previously contracted out some of their Nvidia-branded boards to them (I'm not sure if they still do). Most if not all are using the same board manufacturers (e.g. Foxconn) as EVGA were, and as Nvidia themselves use.
EVGA outsourced everything on the manufacturing side past design. None of the major players in the industry do that at all. Most if not all are using the same board manufacturers (e.g. Foxconn) as EVGA were, and as Nvidia themselves use.
