[SOLVED] EVGA GEFORCE 1660TI only 1 of 2 fans spinning, fan may not be detected by GPU? is that a thing?

Hi! finally tossed the console into a lake and built my first budgetish system and got a new EVGA GeForce GTX 1660Ti two days ago and noticed only one of the GPU's fans was spinning. looked around for a reason, then solution, which led me to the (what I'm guessing should be obvious) conclusion to download the EVGA software which was conveniently on steam. and upon opening the program, I think I discovered the problem, but I really don't know if that's it... by the look of it the board only thinks it has one fan... If anyone could shed any sort of light on this situation, it would be so much appreciated... can't find a fix or even anyone having this problem. contemplating returning it. Thank you <3

I did a quick search and it appears to be a common issue with the EVGA software to only show 1 fan. As far as only 1 fan spinning this is also common as modern cards will adjust fan speed from full to off depending on how much cooling is needed in order to keep noise down.

Either play a GPU heavy game, a benchmark like Unigene Superposition https://benchmark.unigine.com/superposition or you can stress test it by using Furmark (its excessive IMO) and see if both fans kick on.

You're the man! really appreciate you taking your time!
Ran it the first time and nothing.
Then watched a video with another card that suggested overclocking it to get high heat levels.
On that test It did a half rotation at 50 degrees C, so I assumed it does eventually work.
ran it 2 more times and nothing.
Then I turned the fan down to 10% instead of 100% to allow it to heat up and at 60 Degrees they both finally turned on...
so one final question... does that seem like a high heat for it to trigger the second fan. or is it a fan that cools a different part of the card that doesn't directly correlate with the GPU's temp displayed on the EVGA Precision X1 software. (I found that to be the case on a few different GPUs, mainly when it's a 3 fan cooler though, and not just 2.)
Thanks again Richie (don't feel compelled to respond; you've helped me enough already! and if decide to ghost me I'll still love you forever!)<3
