Hi Guys:

I am trying to OC my 660 ti SC to the best I can, I am able to play very well adding to the GPU clock offset 58 MHZ and to the memory clock offset 181 MHZ I am not sure if i am on the limits or i can OC a little more, does anyone has made an overclock to this card and how much were you able to overclockit?

Hey,

Each GPU is unique and different, so results will vary. Also could you post a screenshot of your GPU clock when the card is under load. Run a benchmark like unigine heaven or 3dmark11 or play a intensive game and then check the load GPU clocks (thats what matters). If you are stable, and temperatures are safe then you might be able to push the card further. Also what are your temperatures under load? The screenshot you posted shows the card idling, which is not very helpful when overclocking.

Hi:

I was pushing my card slowly and when I put the core clock 70+ mhz and memory clock 206+mhz I was playing far cry 3 ultra quality 1080 p for about an hour and start getting artifacts and weird stuff in game. The strange thing is that temp was below 60 C.. should I touch voltage??

Thanks

The voltage on the gtx600 series is locked at 1.175 volts. It is likely that the card is already automatically overvolting itself to that voltage under load. So check the voltage under load, if its 1.175v then its already at the maximum. If you want to push it further you would need a modded BIOS.

Try to lower the memory clock to fix the artifacts. I would start from stock and then increase the memory clock in small increments of say +20mhz until you get to +100mhz, then go in increments of +10mhz until you find a stable memory clock. A higher core clock yields better performance than a higher memory clock, so lowering the memory won't cause a large performance hit.

Hope this helps!

I did my tests and I get a much better score with 129+ on the core clock, I am not sure if keep raising, obviously I get a very low score on physics as I have a bad processor Phenom II but I think my graphics score is high...

Good, increasing the GPU clock is better than increasing the memory clock. And yes the physics score is dependent on the CPU. Have you changed anything with the memory? Are the artifacts gone?

I can overclock the hell out of my GTX 660 Ti all the way up to +160 and a little higher and on benchmarks like 3DMark 11 and Passmark 8 and MSI burn in test it runs fine. But when playing normal games like Borderlands 2 and Far Cry 3 it crashes like nobodys business. So make sure to test you card on the games you usually play to get a REAL feel for if your overclock is stable. I can get my two GTX 660 Ti's up to about +90 on the core clock and about +400 on the memory while still being able to play all my games and run all benchmarks. So I think it's right around 1150Mhz give or take. The guy that built my PC says the perfect overclock for these cards while being COMPLETELY stable is +58 on core clock and +308 on the memory. But of course I went a little higher. So if you want to take his advice I'm sure it's really good advice because he does this for a living and I trust a lot of what he says. But if you want to go just a little higher like I did, feel free. The GTX 660 Ti is a monster and for a good price. It's a better bang for your buck than the 670 or 680, especially if you get two of them like me.

BTW I'm not sure if it's just your processor but with one GTX 660 Ti I get a P8700 on the 3DMark score. But I have an highly overclocked 3570k. Maybe that's why. What type of processor do you have? You got an awesome card though.

I have an AMD Phenom II 965 Black edition OC @ 3.9 GHz but the i5 3570K is much better even at stock speeds, thats why I am waiting for the i5 4670K to make an upgrade.

About the overclock I have been playing this weekend Crysis 3 MP Beta with my core clock in 110 mhz+ but like after 3 hours of gameplay it started to crash so I was downgrading and it finally is stable at more or less 60 mhz+. I did't find any major changes in performance anyway so I let it at 60 :)

Yeah I think that's a good choice to be completely stable. Like I recommended earlier around +58 on the core and around +308 on the memory would probably be PERFECT. And it looks like that's where your at and it looks like your stable.

And man I can't believe that my 3570k makes that BIG of a difference. That's about 1,500 points. That's what seperates a 660 from a 660 Ti. So I guess unless you got a good processor your kind of wasting some performance on the graphics.

I hope the 4670k doesn't beat the 3570k by a big margin because I just got mine about a month and a half ago. Oh well, mines overclocked to the ceiling(temp ceiling)anyways so I'll still be up there with the best. I see no purpose in the 3770k's unless you have the money because you only get 30% more performance ONLY on programs that use more that 4 cores. And I don't use those programs. So what's the point. And my 3570k beats a 3770k in video editing and cinebench anyway because it's overclocked. I'm rambling.

I had mine at 103 on the core and 178 on the mem and it crashed ungine indefinately for me, I had to redownload it because it would even load past the loading screen even when I set it to defualt. But Metro last light and borderlands 2 run flawlessly.
