Which video card should i use in this build(GTX 960 or R9 280)(my monitor runs at 1920 x 1080 pixels) and how long will this build last for?

Both about the same in most games. I would get the 280 for the extra ram that new games may utilize.

Also factor in price.

The 280 has a gig more ram and is somewhat faster so I would grab that.
