EVGA GTX 750 Ti Problem

Ok i will be as detailed as i can. So i put the evga gtx 750 ti (non 6 pin) into my pc and tried to boot it up but after the "checking nvram" screen the screen goes black for a little and then the startup repair loading screen comes up(the green thing going through the bar) and then a blue screen comes up. I was pretty sure it would work with my pc and now im wondering if i'm going to have to get a Non ti gtx 750.Or is the card just faulty. Here are my specs.

Windows 7 Home Premium
Intel Core Q9300 2.50 Ghz
4GB Ram
EVGA 112-CK-NF570 Motherboard http://
350W Power supply

Assuming the power supply isn't just getting too weak from age, it shouldn't be an issue. However, it is possible that the power supply can't output what it needs to anymore.

Another possibility is the motherboard not being compatible. It's not often we run into PCIe compatibility issues, but that board is running a PCIe 1.x variant and that has trouble with PCIe 2.1 and PCIe 3.0 cards (the 750 Ti is a PCIe 3.0 card). If this is the issue, then you'd need to get a GTX 500 series or older card or a Radeon 5000 series or older card to get thing working and you'd need a new power supply to power those more power hungry cards.

It is possible that the card is faulty, but without another computer to try it in, I'm not sure of a good test to find out.

The PCIe issue would not be fixed at all and the power supply would still be problematic, just slightly less so. If your card is faulty, then another GTX 750 Ti wold be fine. You could try doing an RMA; EVGA usually has excellent customer support.

Ok so what if i get a ASUS http:// I saw a review saying it worked with pci 1.1. OR this one this MSIhttp://

Your board might not have 1.1, it might be 1.0 (or even worse, 1.0a) and that probably won't work. I don't know for sure because this isn't listed anywhere and that implies 1.0.

PCI 2.1 is supported, yes. However, most graphics cards use PCIe, not PCI. Your board does not support PCIe 2.1. I understand they can be a little confusing at first, but I assure you, although the name is similar, the two technologies are very different.

PCI has not been used for most graphics cards in a very long time; before PCIe it was AGP.

They're both PCIe 3.0 cards, so the motherboard won't like one over the other. The 750 non Ti does not use so much less power that the power supply, should it be faulty in some way, would work much better with the card.

The only reason to think changing the card could work is if we can prove beyond a doubt that the reason your current card is not working is because it is damaged itself and we can't test that unless you put it in another computer. If you don't have another computer, your only option is to RMA it back to the manufacturer (EVGA) so they can test it. If they say it is not damaged, then your computer won't work with any GTX 750, Ti or not. Nor any other modern card for that matter.

I am sorry I can't give you better news.

Yes, which is why I told you in my previous post that as your only option for a faster graphics card, they would also require a better PSU. So pretty much no matter what, the PSU would need to be replaced. When we're talking about a computer that's almost a decade old, problems like this are common.

Ok so i probably will get a gtx 580 superclocked and a evga 750w psu off of b stock. Is the gtx 580 good and is b stock good?and how much time would it take for evga to test my gtx 750?

A GTX 580 would have much higher performance than the GTX 750 Ti. It's pretty good and is more comparable to a GTX 960.

I am not familiar with b stock, so I can't say for sure. EVGA's PSUs are mostly pretty good, especially their higher wattage models, so I don't anticipate any issues. If you want me to make sure, give me the model number and I can give you a direct answer for that.
