EVGA GTX 780 FTW replacement.

what would be the best replacement for a EVGA GTX 780 FTW edition?

my budget would be to stay under $200.

i play mostly CSGO, LoL, Rome total war 2, rune scape, Age of Conan, most CoDs and other games of same graphics quality.

been using integrated 'intel HD 4600' graphics. I NEED BETTER THAN THIS ATLEAST for *csgo* and other games on my list.

ive been looking and dont mind and less performance card, but apparently my GTX 780 FTW was an extremely good card, even today. Thanks.

OCz ModxStream 700w PSU
intel core i7 4790k @ 4.0 Ghz.
16gb 1333mhz ddr3 ram
ASUS maximus VI hero mobo.

GTX 1050ti is the one to go then, since most of RX 470 is either out of stock / overpriced now, 1050ti is priced under 200$ (about 130-150$ i think?) and it will give u great performance in high@768p or low-med@1080p.
it also had 4 GB VRAM which is pretty futureproof
this card will give u amazing time in mainstream games such as CSGO and Dota, and pretty decent in AAA games

Edit: after seeing the benchmark though, to be honest, it's not worth it changing to 1050ti, while the price tag stays under the target, performance-wise ur card is still better, so better keep that card a little longer and save up for 1070 / 1080 instead, will give u more performance boost

Any card under 200$ will be weaker than your 780.
A 1060 6GB / Rx 580 would be upgrades, adding around 15% the 1060 3GB would be slightly faster than the 780, the Rx570 around the same level.
A 1050Ti is significantly slower.

For under 200$ look for a Rx570 / Rx470 if you can find any.
If you can't the 1050ti will be fine for csgo.

The 780 FTW was indeed a very good card.

How fair would this card be? Would this be a step up from my 780 FTW? even the slightest upgrade would make me happy, as i am just looking at most of my options at the moment. I usually have always bough EVGA GPUs, but i am desperate at the moment, for i cannot even play competitive games without being lagged. even the smallest amount of lag drives me nuts.

EDIT - 1920x1200 + 1920x1080 dual monitor setup is what i used. ***** i should have been more clear. the GTX 780 FTW is completely done for. Code 43 in windows 10 safe mode, and wont boot any graphics from outside safe mode. I have been on the intel HD 4600 integrated graphics the past week. ***********

that was freaking expensive for 1060. before the mining craze even $280 already considered as very expensive for 1060. a few weeks ago you can get a good deal with 1070 which at least 40% faster than 1060 at that price which usually sells for 380-450, now even used 1070 can go as high as $500. to be honest right now it is not a good time to get new GPU. you don't have any GPU right now?

it's overpriced, the MSRP is about 220$ from what i remembered (slightly more expensive than RX 580's 210$ MSRP) the card right now at that price tag isn't worth it (for me at least)

again, if u already tried it and still fail, assuming ur card's done for good, i suggest u get the 1050ti instead, the mid-end graphic cards right now are overpriced / out of stock bcz of all the mining fever

while 1050ti is a budget gamer card, it will perform very well on the games u mentioned, some benchmark even shows it can reach 100++ FPS on CSGO max@1080p(if this is the game that u worry about, even with my bottlenecked 1050ti i can easily reach 70-80fps on 768p)

I have no GPU. only on board graphics, which kills me because i usually work and come home and game 8 hours a day. ive been on this schedule since middle school.

i have been reading on this mining craze, but it doesnt seem that it is going to go down anytime this year. I think i will just have to bite the bullet.

yeah this mining craze is really hit gamers badly. we expect thing to improve by the end of this year when it is become much harder to make profit with GPU mining but it to be exact we are not really certain if things going to really improve because unlike how it was back in 2013 with bitcoin now there is tons of crytocurrency exist. when ether (the most popular algo right now) is hardly profitable miner probably just move to different algo.

EDIT (again) : just trying get my PC (which i worship as my own religion) to be atleast proofed out to be ready even for the newer games coming out. My onboard graphics can run CSGO fine for casual gaming, but most smokes/grenades take my FPS down about 30, just having them on my screen, which is NO-GO for my ESEA 5 man. My teammates have been replacing me and very pissed off, as i am the awper of the team.
I dont want to run this thread into the dirt.

Yeah I went from a 780 Lightning to a 1060 6gb, was well worth it.

A 1050 ti wont perform as well as the 780 in many cases.

well if u're willing and ready to spend 150$ more, then go, it's totally up to you.
just a friendly reminder, both 1050ti and 1060 will last 2 years, at different settings ofc.... since they are from different tier....
