I was thinking of upgrading my 750TI to the GTX 960 which released today but seeing the firestrike benchmarks and the competition from 1-2 years ago it's really nothing to be WOW'd about especially since I know it'll be replaced with a TI version in like 3 months so I honestly Id rather just cough up the extra cash & just get the solid 970 for my money. EVGA does have a great 90 step-up program if I ever do plan to upgrade which is nice so If i did get fucked over being an early 960 adopter and they release a TI version a few months later i'd be able to pay the cost difference between the two cards and upgrade. But I'd like someones honest opinion on which version to purchase? There is about a $40 gap between the 2 cards. The EVGA gtx 970 SSC retails for $350 and the FTW+ retails for $390.
My Q is does the improved heatsink, MOSFET cooling plate, higher base clock, improved voltage, x2 BIOS, and backplate that comes standard on the FTW+ worth the extra $40 dollars to purchase over the EVGA gtx 970 SSC model?
In my opinion I feel that the backplate is definitely worth having which is standalone price of $20 in addition to the $350 for the SSC model but is it necessary?
