I wanted to ask here what others think about a situation i have?
I can get either a new EVGA gtx 980 with acx 2.0 for $400 to my door or a gigabyte 980 G1 for a $100 more?
The reason i am not just jumping on the EVGA for $400 is the gigabyte G1 is a real beast out of the box!
it does not need any overclocking done to it as many bench tests have shown in numerous games.
On the other hand the EVGA is a great card too but i would have to oc it myself and there is no guarantee i can clock it to be as fast as the G1?
I know this is a silly situation but when spending over $300 i like to be sure before i buy.
I game at 1080p and MAY want to go up to 1440 in the future and either card will cover that
but the G1 will get much better FPS at the same settings right?
as a side note i did want to get into overclocking as i am pretty much a novice at this point and that EVGA probably is the better card to learn on?(less expensive)
