running games maxed out with its default boost clocks up to 1303mhz & fans at 60% (2000rpm, any higher and it will start being pretty loud) temps hover around 74-78c, kinda scares me honestly especially since it's technically winter now, worries me about summer temps, is it just my card or are these temps normal? I'm running 2x SP120 fans front intake, 2x SP120 fans exhaust, and 2x AF120 fans top exhaust. It's still under warranty so i can always replace it, what would you guys do? i'm hearing the KINGPIN version runs at 30 less mhz and 1000 less rpm with better temps.

Those temperatures are very good actually. The GTX 980 Ti has a factory preset temperature target of 84c. Below that it will increase Turbo Boost clocks, above that it will decrease Turbo Boosts, all to maintain that 84c temperature target. Anything below 84c means that you have very good cooling. Check out PrecisionX and look for your Temp Limit variable to confirm.

I appreciate the info! I've been messing with the custom fan curve a bit and i got it to stay within 72-74c with the fan at 65% under full load, now as for summer temperatures, i'm in New York so with humidity and everything i expect ambient to be around 27c - 30c (possibly a bit lower when ac is on), what temps should i expect during the summer? should i set a more aggressive fan curve during summer? do people do that?
