Ended up getting a platinum 850w power supply for a good deal. Planning on adding another evga 980 ti or 1080 for GPU rendering in Octane Render. The GPUs will not be in SLI so they do not need to match.

I wanted to know if the PCIe 8 pin on one side and 6 + 2 pin + 6 pin are both compatible to connect to the GPU. I already used up both the main 8 pin PCIe for the 980 ti ftw.

Can I connect the full 8 pin the GPU and then the 6+2 pin on the other side to the PSU? Main reason is because I don't want the extra wire dangling haha.

PSU is EVGA 850w p2

Yes Evga 980 ti ftw requires 2x 8 pin. The last two 8 pins I have have an extra 6 pin attached to it. So there would be a 6 pin dangling on both if I decided to get another FTW. EVGA SC only needs 8 pin + 6 pin so I might use that as second GPU.

I wanted to know if that side with the 8 pin + extra 6 pin could be used to connect to the PSU
