And thus, every other GPU vendor also went keel-up at the same time as EVGA.Right... because this couldn't possibly have anything to do with it at all:
Oh, wait...
GALAX and Colorful go via Palit, Manli and Zotac via PCPartner, etc. Both will have the actual PCBs fabbed and populated by Pegatron or Foxconn, and will have coolers manufactured by another third party (which is why different unrelated brands will end up with identical or near-identical coolers). Some like MSI may do final assembly themselves, but usually that will be contracted to Foxconn or Pegatron because they already do that anyway. Can you name a single video card manufacturer who doesn't have their own factories? I'm not aware of any, but maybe you are.
If you're thinking Asus (for example) have a big factory where raw copper-clad FR4 and Nvidia dies go in one end and GPUS come out the other, that's not how GPU manufacturing - or electronics manufacturing in general - works. This is commonplace, for example your iPhone, iPad or Macbook were very likely manufactured by Foxconn (you can use the first two characters of the SN to look up manufacturing origin).
EVGA were not some special exception in the world of manufacturing.
