Pretty simple, plugged Edimax EW-7318UG into my Windows 8.1 PC with a LAN cable in just to make sure it was the most up to date driver that Windows downloaded. Downloaded a driver name RT73 and installed fine. Went to networks and my Sky router is there. Go to connect to it put in the pass code for WPA-PSK security it tries to connect for a bit and fails. Any insight? Checked and couldn't see any official Windows 8/8.1 drivers but it seems to see the network but not connect so I am confused.

So it gives no error or anything?

Go to Control Panel > Network and Sharing > Local Area Connection or Ethernet > Properties > Highlight Internet Protocol Version 6 > Properties

Make sure that Obtain an IP Adress Automatically is "ticked". Do the same for ipv4.

It looks like resetting the entire TCP/IP stack is different in Windows 8, so if the above is already set then you could try just uninstalling Internet Protocol Version 6 and/or Version 4. Re-installing them is the same as resetting them.

The fact that it doesn't give you any errors or tell you it has "limited" access makes this a tough one.

I tried netsh into IP reset c:\resetlog.txt or something close to that earlier but to no avail. I shall check the settings and things in the morning. For now I need to sleep. I will update you when I've checked. Thanks.
