Example $2000 Gaming PC Build

For all of you searching this forum looking for advice on what parts to get for a new build, I thought I'd help you out. I built a new computer a couple of weeks ago, and then documented the parts list and the reasoning behind each part on my website. I spent about $1800 by finding sales on the parts over time, but I think if you buy it all at once right now it will end up just under $2000. Hopefully it will be of use to you. what are you using this build for?

i plan to suggest something else if this is not for video editing

I use it for software development, PC gaming, and everything else I need - it's my personal desktop computer. I don't do much video editing. Feel free to offer your suggestion.

what software do you use? does it benefit from the extra threads?

Multitasking during video games does benefit. I'm aware that I'm not fully utilizing the processor yet, but that's the idea - I wanted to build a computer that would last me 4 years or so.
