For all of you searching this forum looking for advice on what parts to get for a new build, I thought I'd help you out. I built a new computer a couple of weeks ago, and then documented the parts list and the reasoning behind each part on my website. I spent about $1800 by finding sales on the parts over time, but I think if you buy it all at once right now it will end up just under $2000. Hopefully it will be of use to you. Respond there or to this post if you have any questions!

I use it for software development, PC gaming, and everything else I need - it's my personal desktop computer. I don't do much video editing. Feel free to offer your suggestion.

Multitasking during video games does benefit. I'm aware that I'm not fully utilizing the processor yet, but that's the idea - I wanted to build a computer that would last me 4 years or so.
