.Exe's not running in XP

Does anyone know what is going on with this. .exe files not runnning in xp . it runs perfectly with everything else. ( XP runs Well) but some, .exe files are not leaunching, just nothing happens. I double click on the .exe files, like with installers for programs, and nothing happens. Some .exe files do run and the program installs. but It seems that many .exe files are non reponsive. This is something I have never encountered before and Im not sure the solution .

Could you give an example about what .exe you are talking? Are you trying to install a specific game on your PC?

One possible problem is that if you are running a 32bit version of Windows XP then 64bit software (like some newer games) might not run.
