I am reading the phrase 'expansion pack compatible' with some of the
downloads. Does anyone know if this means all of my downloads will not
be expansion pack compatible?

so that's what the problem was!! I noticed porch columns were flashing
blue - but only in the neighborhood screen. I had no idea what was
going on...

Maybe. It seems there is a potential problem with recolors done with
SimPE .14. Basically there might be some conflicts with ID numbers,
and some items might end up flashing blue with University installed.

However, you can fix the potential problem by simply loading each
object in SimPE .15 and hitting the "Fix Something or Other" option.
And future versions will maybe have a batch converter.

Will this be easy to do? I mean for someone who doesn't know how to use
SimPE?

Hello

it seems that all recolered objects made before simpe 1,4 might cause a
problem
and new meshes

There are several threads going on in mod the sims 2

No thats a different problem I'm afraid. Its a known issue on recoloured
outdoor objects and I believe it has something to do with the neighbourhood
view graphics being stored elsewhere in the game, this makes any recoloured
object show a missing graphic (the object flashes blue).
