Experiencing dots and lines when playing certain games

This has been an occurring problem since May. It began when I was playing the Arcane: Mirage Warfare beta, which is a game created by the same developers of Chivalry, when I experienced a key stuck and making me move where I didn't want to. I gave it a somewhat hard tap, but I tapped a little too hard, causing whatever to break.

I checked to see what was the problem and whenever I played some specific games, it may crash and send a message. Some games would play, but with the aforementioned dots and lines (of which I'll post a couple of screenshots of certain games).

Some say it's a broken GPU or Graphics Card. Others say that the only way to fix it would be to get it repaired or put it in the oven, but I don't have enough money for the former and I don't think the latter would work.

My adapters consist of:

Intel(R) HD Graphics 520
NVIDIA GeForce 940M

Is it overclocked?

It looks like something with the card itself.

The fact you hit it hard and it's a laptop kinda explains why it stopped working.

My screen would go off with my ancient laptop after the chip came loose.

How can I check to see if it's been overclocked?

Did you build it yourself?

If you did than it shouldn't be.

If you got it from somewhere else, it shouldn't unless they said.

It could be the screen as Sydney said so you can try a TV and see if you get the same issue.

Ok so I came to the conclusion that the PC was overclocked during it's run on Arcane Mirage Warfare and that the fan died.

My mother suggested that we can get it repaired at Best Buy, due to how we have a 1-year warranty subscription there.

My biggest concern, however, is the cost. I think she mentioned it was free, but now I'm not so sure considering how we're on a shaky budget.

What kind of system is it full system specs please 940m is a mobile gpu not sure why its overclocked to begin with. If you cant build your own system i dont think you should be overclocking
