You all just hate on Apple because you are mad you didn't think of this first. Having dumb fans doesn't make the product itself any better or worse, it just makes it more profitable.

Okay, first of all, this article is linkbaiting at its finest.

Setting that aside, humans are creatures that seek out community out of a profoundly imbedded genetic imperative. The thing that's sad here is that a community forms around a giant corporation, rather than something more meaningful. I'm not saying that Apple users do this in general--if I know someone who ever queued on launch day for a Apple product, I'm unaware of it--but the fact that there are people who hitch a significant part of their identity to the manufacturer of their laptops and phones is kind of depressing.

The difference between lining up for a Samsung Galaxy S III (or whatever) and for an iPhone 5 is the difference between saying "Check out my new phone, it has all these positive attributes" and "Check out my new phone, it's made by Apple!"

Why aren't folks lining up for the Samsung Galaxy S III? I mean if it is so good wouldn't there be a line!

I guess EVERYONE standing in ANY line is a fanatic? Come on. Like sales, tickets, or you name it.

Trust this, Samsung only wishes there were folks standing in lines and buying 10's of millions of their products and selling out in minutes; seems like iEnvy and small.

People wait in line for all kinds of products. This is NOT NEW!!! Look at video game releases, Halo, WOW expansions, COD etc. Gamestop always have hundreds of people waiting in line to buy the game at midnight. (Heck, I used to be one of those people, and I have never waited for or pre ordered an apple product).

Honestly, these comments are so dumb. Just hating on people who buy Apple for the sake of hating on the people who buy Apple.

Each one of those people are also idiots. Waiting in line just to get a game, some times unable to play it because of time locks in the first place.
