I experience a problem with my Internet Explorer, it sometimes locks up (like twice a day) and I have to reboot. It usually happens on websites with picures of something (like fileplanet.com) and I don't like it, I have Explorer 5.5 with 80Mhz athlon 448RAm and 56K modem(37.333 connection)What causes the problem?

I have been having similar problems with IE 5.5 locking up also. However, I started noticing this instability after I downloaded the critical update "IE 5.5 Service Pack 1". I am running Win 98. This is only my opinion...since there are soooo many versions of windows out at this time, MS is determined to support their newest products (Me, 2000, and XP). the code that they are using seems slanted toward the newer MS products. A shrewd way of getting people to migrate to their newer stuff. This is simply my opinion. I am waiting a response from MS regarding this, but I am doubtful if they will be on the level or even to respond. Does anyone else have an opinion if you are experiencing the same thing???

I have the same problem. It freezes up and then i have to reboot. Usually when i first log on. It starts to think then it dies. It sucks!!!! This happens daily!!!! I also downloaded the IE 5.5 Service Pack 1. Maybe they have a few bugs to work out. I hope they fix it or somebody has an answer, if not, Netscape is looking real good.
