External Battery Life

I am looking for a new laptop with a external 4- or 6- cell battery. However, t seems manufacturers are skimping to 3-cell internal batteries.
My old HP laptop has 6 cells and has lasted a long time at about 6-8 hrs/day.
Which companies routinely make long cell external batteries? Thanks.

It depends on your budget. Business-oriented laptops usually have the option to select your battery.
Another option is to use "external battery" (like a power-bank, but made specifically for laptops).

Comes down to budget as most good laptops are running at least 6 hours a day on their internal battery.
AFAIK all current Mac laptops have 10-12 hour batteries.

My budget is $700 or under. If the internal battery lasts 6/hrs day, that would be OK. I'm just wondering about their life expectancy. It seems they have trouble being replaced, and I wouldn't want to buy a new system or void the warranty just for a new internal battery.

I guess I'm used to buying stuff that lasts. My 2011 MBP still gets ~6 hours for office work.

General battery tips: Don't let them get too hot or regularly drain them below ~20%
