Discussion External Drive-System wants to boot

I have an external drive that my system drive (C) is backed up to.

However, when I boot my Windows 10 desktop, it seeks to boot from the external USB drive.

How can I back up my C drive, without having it appear as a boot disk?

How did you do this backup? A full clone?

For a real backup, you should do an Image of some sort.
Macrium Reflect does this easily.
