External drive Toshiba Canvio Connect II 3TB + Windows XP SP2

Answer me one question please. I plan to buy external drive Toshiba Canvio Connect II 3 TB and I' afraid it can not be used in full capacity on my Windows XP which I uses many years and don't want to update. I read on internet that Windows XP 32 bit detects drives up to 2,2 TB only, is that true or maybe this problem refers to INTERNAL drives only and not external ones? I care about this product very much because this is good, reliable company so please advice me. I prefer to know it before I buy it and want to use 3 TB on Windows XP, instead of 2,2. In this case I will buy just 2 TB.

I read about some software that can be used on Windows XP also and easily convert MBR table to GPT on connected disk within just a few moments. Is it truth?

Please help me. I asked about it on polish forum forum.pclab.pl but polish people are apparently too stupid to answer me 🙁.
