Hey guys...Ethobling here.

I have an Optiplex 780 with these specs:

-Core 2 Duo E8600 3.33Ghz, 6MB L2 Cache, 65W
-4 GB DDR3 Ram (data rate is either 1066 or 1333)
-Nvidia Quadro FX 1700 512 MB
-305W PSU (stock; came with the Optiplex)
-700 GB Seagate Barracuda
-Win XP 32 bit (yeah...ik what you are thinking, lol)

The issue:
A few days ago, I decided to clean out my case of any dust by taking it outside and using an air compressor on low PSI. When I put the PC back together, my PC would power on, but nothing would show. No post/BIOS/anything. The fan on the GPU runs (I think at 100%), but there is no video, and I am getting the diagnostic lights on (1,2, and 3 are on, which indicates it got past POST, but I am seeing nothing...). Once I unpluged the video cable from the GPU and onto the onboard graphics, the same issue occured. It wasnt until I took the GPU out of the PCIe socket that the computer booted normally. I had another Quadro, so I put that one instead of the original, but the same issue occured.

Is the PCIe slot dead? What should I do?

Thank you.

when you clean a pc you must not blow the fans because if they spin without control they can create acurrent and fun things can happen

if you have another gpu, try it in there and see if it works

also try the quadro in another pc to see if it still works, clean the pci express slot again, sometimes dust can be as fun as this
