External gpu worth it?

Solution
In case you're using a laptop and your soldered GPU is mid-range or low-range I would definitely go for one of these docking stations. Totally worth it.
In case you have a 960m nvidia gpu in your laptop or higher, I wouldn't.

The reality of it is they are almost never worth it.
Laptops that have a powerful enough processor to game generally have discrete graphics good enough to run games. If they dont support discrete graphics, the processor is generally on the weak side anyway.
A laptop is designed to be portable, why tie it down to add desktop hardware (This is where the desktop talk comes in), and essentially turn it into a desktop when you can get better performance/price with a dedicated gaming system.

okay there are some rumors that those give you 30% of the performance or something from the gpu. I want to get a gtx 750ti then i have a gt 820m atm i cant even play bf4 ; (

Yea but im not allowed to have a ethernet cable on my room and thats the only place where i can get a desktop, so i need to use my laptop. my laptop has a i7 4510 @2.0 ghz dual core and 4gb ram (can be upgraded)

wifi isnt gonna work either because there is no wifi on my room

Get a powerline kit mate, that will bring ethernet connection to your room mate.
Powerline - 2 plugs that go in to your wall socket.
One plug goes next to your modem, connect the powerline plug with an ethernet cable and the other side to your modem.
The second plug from the kit, connect it inside your room, to the wall socket and attach it, again, with an ethernet cable and to your computer.
Internet signal will be transferred to your computer from the modem via your Electricity circuit.
Really easy to set them up.
Mod Edit - No Advertising

There are different kinds of them, with multiple ethernet sockets, higher grade ones also extend wifi.
The speed transferred is the same as you would directly connect to your modem.
Hope this helped.

im not allowed from my parents to have wifi or ethernet on my room, they think that im gonna game at night -_- and getting the laptop down at night also nope cuz my parents say nope (they have no reason)

oh and that WiFi thing last time i bought one it sed nope and just didnt work, and at my brothers room it did bad, but it worked and later on didnt work in his room either

Probobly, because you've bought a WiFi extender, which operates on its own OR you bought bad powerlines that are 300mbps or less.
My customers have been using powerlines for a long time and they're amazing :)

ok but then i have the problem that im not allowed to have wifi on my room... but still thanks :)
