Hey yazooda. You could try opening Disk Management to assign a new letter. Here's a link with instructions on how to do that:

Just click on the corresponding OS and follow the steps.
If that doesn't help, you could try the drive with another computer or USB cable (not longer than 12") to see if it's working OK. If the drive is recognized, go ahead and run the manufacturer's diagnostic tool to test the HDD and see what it shows.
