Hello everyone!

Everytime that I have a problem, I seem to find the answers for it in this forum... until this time.

I have a 1gb external hard drive (WD Elements) that was working properly until today. Its still recognized, but he WD logo doesn't show properly (shows the icon like when you have a file without a format). I can still acess it and SOME folders, but not the two largest ones, wich appear as "Folder is empty". I've tried in a different USB port and it's the same but, when trying on my GF computer, everything is just fine.

Any idea on what is causing this, and how to fix it?

Thanks a lot in advance for your time!

Edit: After removing the disc controler and restarting computer (so it reinstalls) I can see the folders, the Icon is still broken.

Welcome to Tom's Hardware, Disgrace!

I think what you need to do is un-hide the hidden files from the WD Elements on your computer.
I'd suggest to take a look at this tutorial that might help you see the files on your computer: http://www.wikihow.com/Unhide-Folders-in-Windows-7
If this doesn't work, then you are most probably dealing with a malware/virus on your PC and need to run some anti-virus scans.

Hope this helps. Keep me posted! :)
