Hey, I was wondering if anyone could help me... I'm not really that techy so I'm sorry if this is not the right category! Basically, my situation is that I've got an external hard drive which don't have any visible screws or way of opening and the USB port (at least that's what I think it's called) has fallen out, if I take it to a repair store, do you think they would be able to fix it/save the data? Thank u so much!

Hey, Emma!

The best thing to do is to search for data recovery companies, rather than a repair store.
As drtweak already mentioned, the repair store guys most probably will be able to put in a new enclosure, but I'm not sure they will be able to recover your files. Mechanical hard drives are very sensitive and if it happens to have internal damage, there is no point in repairing the drive.
However, you should definitely search for a data recovery company in your area, they are your best chance at saving your data.

Hope I was helpful! Let me know if you have more questions! :)
