Question External Hard Drive Suggestions

Good Evening

I've grabbing a bunch of PC Games. I have been installing them on the internal M.2 I have currently but I am tired of uninstalling them along ALL of my Launchbox games as well. Can someone recommend a decent External Drive? I am not sure where to even start. I did have a 2TB hard NAS but that was years ago.

Choose whatever HDD, SSD or m.2 you want. Choose whatever enclosure or dock you want. I have a few leftover HDDs so I put them in Sabrent or Orico enclosures. My current favorite is the Orico 6616C3 dock since it tends to muffle the drive's noise the best. I put my Western Digital Red Pro 16TB HDD in that. I also use Sabrent and Orico enclosures for my surplus SSDs and m.2s. I like the Orico m.2 enclosures rated at 20 Gbps for speedy transfers to the USB C 2x2 port on the front of my case.

Can someone recommend a decent External Drive?

If you are tempted by the relatively low price/Gigabyte of modern 3.5in USB3 desktop drives, remember that many of them use SMR (Shingle Magnetic Recording) technology, to boost drive capacity at the expense of slower write speeds. These days I buy CMR/PMR hard disks, not SMR.

I'd probably get a Crucial X9 4TB portable SSD on special offer before Cyber Monday ends.
