My external Hard Drive is probably corrupt as windows says and i dont want to format it without recovering my data

i saw some videos but they all are using only chkdsk command in cmd or powershell
for me it somehow doesnt work at all

The type of the file system is NTFS.
The first NTFS boot sector is unreadable or corrupt.
Reading second NTFS boot sector instead.
Unable to determine volume version and state. CHKDSK aborted.

Solution
How much data was on this drive?

The first step with me is to create a sector image of the drive exactly the way it is so you will need the same size in free space on another drive
(ie - if your external is 1Tb then you need 1tb free space on another drive to hold the image)
Next you need an equivalent amount of free space to hold the data your recovering. (ie - if your 1Tb had 300gb of data on it then you need another 300gb of space on another drive to hold the recovered data)

No need for a full scan. There may be a simple DIY fix involving a few clicks, assuming the drive is physically OK.
