Hi guys newbie here.
The toshiba750 GB( usb 3.0 compatible )hdd that I have been using for a long time stopped working on the usb 3 .0 port. But works fine in usb 2.0 port.I tried in 2 laptop which one is windows7 and other w10.Result is same.Issue here my old laptop have usb 2 port but my new one doesnt have so cant acces the data on the newer device.
Hdd light is on even when i plug it into usb 3 port but there is no responce from laptop (disk managment or sound for connection doest apper anything)

I used the same cable and port other toshiba 3 tb hdd its work fine without problem in both laptop. So what is the problem here any idea ?

Solution
USB 3.0 and 2.0 use different data pins. It could be that one of the 3.0 data pins is open circuit on the HDD's PCB.

CrystalDiskInfo should report the actual HDD model. This will tell us if the USB hardware is integrated onto the HDD's PCB, or whether it is on a separate USB-SATA bridge board.

What your saying points toward an enclosure problem.
Get a new enclosure put the 750 hdd in it and test.

How.Its not converted from hard drive.

I bought it directly as an external drive .Can I open inside this ? If the problem enclosure how is working usb 2

USB3.0 ports require drivers.
Windows 7 does not come with such drivers, so you need to find them for the w7 unit.
On the new unit, look for driver for your usb 3.0 port.
Windows 10 does include usb3.0 drivers, but it may not have one for your particular laptop.

Look on the laptop support sites for such drivers to install.

Since the same device which had been working does not do so on two different laptops, I might conclude that the unit's usb interface has failed. Normally, the underlying HDD can be moved to a replacement usb enclosure.

It war working fine without any driver issue while ago .Didnt change anything back then.Every laptop has usb 3.0 driver also other usb 3.0 hdd works fine so I think issue is not about usb drivers.
