External HDD unable to read when plugged in.

Hello,

I have a WD External HDD 1TB. I'm trying to plugged the HDD in my laptop. But the drive is not appearing in the My Computer. I try to use WinDlg_124 and when I try to run checks, it says that it has too many Bad Sectors. How can I format this HDD when I can't see the HDD drive in My Computer?

If your HDD is not recognized in Windows, try it in Ubuntu (Linux) http://www.ubuntu.com/ and then you could use Test Disk http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/TestDisk - Ubuntu can be run from CD or Flash Drive (you don't actually have to install)
