External HDD

Have installed and external USB/firewire HDD. It is detected, can see it in
device manager but can't access it in disk manager. It is returning an error
45 I think? (not at MC just now). Could it be because the HDD is FAT32 and
not NTFS?

Shouldn't matter if it is NFTS or FAT32. XP can read and write to both.
You say it can't access it in Disk Management, but can you actually
see it? Can you activate it, assign it a letter or anything?

Must have been something physical with drive. Correct I couldn't access it or
change drive assignation. Tried a different FAT32 HDD and it worked first
time. So I'll just skip the dodgy drive.
