Question External Nvm caused computer lights to slow way down and all games to stutter- why?

So my computer components are:
MB- MSI Z690-A Wifi DDR5
13900K
4080
Corsair Dominator 5600 DDR5
Corsair 5000D

When I put in the ROG Asus Strix Arion S500 Portable SSD into the type C port on the motherboard, it worked for a few days but then the lights on my computer started getting really slow and all my games were really slowing down, even ones installed on my main drive. Could it have been because of icue software or something else?

What programs are running? Where did you get the SSD? Does it have anything malicious on it?

I just got it off Amazon. I only installed Steam games on it.

When your PC is running slow, what does Task Manager show is running? Is anything using significant amounts of resources?

Please try detaching the external SSD and see if the system will run normally.
