External video card with no driver needed

well, any grapichs card will run without a driver, it will just run bad.

why wouldnt you just install a driver? you can use an external pcie slot and install a driver.

external pci-e slots is uncomfortable, you will regret it.

You can't install any external video card without installing a driver. Drivers enable crosstalk between hardware and your OS.

But if you mean not having to install AMD or Nvidia drivers manually, Windows Update will install the "bare essentials" to have the OS recognize the hardware and render video properly. These drivers are provided with permission by AMD or Nvidia to Windows. Windows update is practically automatic depending on how you configure it, no user input necessary.

The reason these drivers exist is because your OS has crap stock drivers that will work with everything, the extra drivers provide code so your OS can take advantage of the awesome resolution or other stuff your graphics card or monitor can do.

I'm not sure if you mean external PCIE stuff, or something like a USB to video adapter like this:

I hear they work decently if you need to add another monitor and don't have any more outputs on your card/mobo

I am using a laptop that has security on it. While it's fine to have a 3rd monitor I just cant put a driver on the laptop. I tried using Sabrent-USB-DH88-2048x1152-1920x1080-DisplayLink but it wont run without the driver. All I need it for is basic stuff like excel and the like nothing heavy.
