Extreme graphics corruption in windowed applications

Hey everyone!

I have a huge problem with my graphics card (Sapphire Radeon HD 5770).

Whenever I run an application in windowed mode that uses hardware acceleration (or a specific acceleration feature? I don't know), the image gets all blurry. Sometimes the colors and texts even start to "melt away" upwards or downwards, until the text is completely unreadable. When I hover over the affected window with my mouse, the areas I touch become clear for a tiny moment, but start blurring again immediately.

Here's a picture of that happening:

I picked Thunderbird, because it seems to be especially bad there. Notice the highlighted calendar entries on the right side? That's supposed to be a straight bar highlighting the text, and now it looks like it's friggin' melting!

As you can see, only the hardware-accelerated client area of the Thunderbird window is screwed up. Desktop is fine, Explorer window is fine as well.

Other applications are also suffering from this (even World Of Warcraft becomes blurry when I run it in windowed mode, fullscreen is absolutely fine)

I have a dual-monitor setup, and the problem occurs on both monitors, so it's not a faulty display...also, when I remove the AMD Catalyst drivers, everything is ok. As soon as I reinstall them, the problem is back. And I don't really want to go on working with those old drivers that came with Windows...

Anyone have an idea? I tried tinkering around with the catalyst settings, but couldn't find a remedy yet.

Help!? :) Thanks alot!
