I left my PC on all of last night night, connected to the internet, done
it before, loads of times.
This morning when I awoke (7.30 am GMT), the monitor was off (The green
LED had changed to orange) which is what happens when the PC has been
switched off in the normal way.
Although the PC hadn't been turned off it was acting as though it had,
except that the fan was running and the 'Mains Light' was still on.
I pressed the reset button, expecting it to re-boot, which it did, but
the monitor stayed off (it flashed green for about two seconds then
went back to the orange standby light.
I have tried unplugging the PC from the mains, even loaded the Windows
XP disc, but nothing seems to work. the monitor stays blank.
I don't know if this is a software or a hardware problem. I thought it
might be the Monotor needs replacing, but it does attempt to turn on
when the LED turns green but changes back to orange standby almost
immediately.
My OS is Windows XP Pro.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
