Hello, guys, so,

I just bought an Alienware M15 R6 (3070 variant) and it's thermal throttling is acting strange.

The core clock of the GPU hits ~1800MHz but usually sits a lot lower due to thermal throttling (~1600MHz).
The thing is, when around 85oC the clock suddenly drops to ~500MHz and doesn't come back up even after the GPU is very cool.

Any ideas?

Solution
Gpu core temperature isn't the only parameter to watch for.
If the core is reading 85C, then the hotspot is surely higher. Normally 10-20C higher. Now, laptop might be a little different, but on desktop, hotspot has a limit of 110C.
There's also Vram temperature. 105C for that one. Hwinfo should be able to read that one.

That last part has me scratching my head.
Overheating power brick?
