I want to factory reset my emachines desktop running windows xp

You'll need to borrow or buy media.

If the machine was built after 2006, it may have a recovery partition. Google the model of the machine and in the search, put "recovery partition" after the model. There should be a key combination you can press at the BIOS logo to trigger the recovery partition.

If not, you'll have to check eBay for a disk. There are myriad copies available on eBay and they're not horribly expensive.
