So i have an old pc which was running windows 8 that i have updated to windows 10 when it was free for a limited time. Now it runs really slowly and i thought that i could do a factory reset to make it run faster. Does the pc run on windows 8 after that? I really don't want to use windows 8.

Solution
If it is slow u should clean or download ccleaner, and anti malware. Do a scan and try to unistall files that you dont use. If you factory reset it it will go back to windows 8 as that was the one it came from the "Factory"

Also, if it's a pre-built or laptop, check your startup items (all those utilities that load up and run in the background when Windows starts). Half of them are just plain unnecessary and should be disabled (CCleaner can do that). The more of them you allow to load, the more RAM is used up.

And talking of RAM, consider installing some more as that's one of the bast upgrades to get better performance.

Another worthwhile upgrade is replacing the boot HDD with an SSD.
