failue in copying system files in folder i386

My system installation cd is faulty. During installation, many dll and ex_ files in folder i386 can not be copied even though the names of the required files do exist in the system cd. Is there remedy for this problem, such as downloading the whole i386 folder online? Or, is there such thing as XP system repair kit?

You can probably find an ISO of the XP disk online, just make sure it's a real disk and not a hacked version. You can also check for an XP disk off ebay or locally, maybe a computer shop by your has one.

Keep in mind that this can also be caused by a bad hard drive not just a bad disk.
