I recently bought a GTX 750 TI on ebay for about $80. It seems to be running but it under performs and can barely run games like Overwatch on high settings. It crashes my games from time to time if I try to play on these settings.

Gave me some generic CD and some poorly written instructions

Solution
Well someone doesn't get over 100,000 positive feedback selling fakes. Have you installed the latest drivers from NVidia instead of the CD.

99.7% positive with well over 100,000 transactions doesn't suggest fake.

Nvidia Logo doesn't indicate a fake.

Valid driver disc doesn't indicated counterfeit.

What has most likely happened? Dell or some other company bought a boatload of these for one or more than one of their pre-built PCs. They did not sell as expected. They have sat on a shelf. https://techliquidators.com/index.cfm/p/4/categories/0/sizes/2/condition/0/location/0 is but one of many companies which may buy from larger corporations. The company, such as Dell sells to XYZ for a substantially discounted price and they(XYZ) have pallets of merchandise which they can then flip for a discounted rate but still reap a big profit.

About $80? http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-NVIDIA-GeForce-GTX750TI-1GB-DDR5-192Bit-PCI-Express-Video-Graphics-Card-/361688693931 . Keep shopping and you could probably find one for less.

Overwatch is EXTREMELY CPU demanding as well. That card is old so I would expect medium settings with that card. Less with a lesser CPU. It also loves RAM. 8GB is standard. 16GB for those who have higher end systems. At least for gamers that is.

The 50 USUALLY indicates medium settings.

60 medium-high to high

70 High to ultra settings

80 Ultra.

That depends on the monitor's resolution and the in game settings. With only 1GB vram you are held back even more by that GPU in that GFX card. They do sell 750Ti 2GB models.

It's performing as expected and in my opinion isn't a fake. The owner's expectations were just a wee bit on the high side.

Why does it crash?

Use MSI Afterburner. https://www.msi.com/page/afterburner . Enable the OSD. Click on memory usage within the GPU section. Watch as you use more and more vram. I mean literally set your settings to where it has crashed or even above that. https://s5.postimg.org/t4ajhopvb/Far_Cry4_2016_11_08_22_14_29_543.jpg is a game from 2014, I think. Check out the VRAM usage. Well over 2GB.

Isn't 750 Ti also 3.0 pci-e ???
I am suspicious about this card to be honest...

Also NO signs on box that it is actually 750 Ti, so it leads me to 1 conclusion and that is...
IT IS FAKE, because now when you say that you bought 750 Ti, he can always say look at box, does it say it is 750 Ti?
I know one seller from here who does similar things...

EDIT: Also Windows 7 promotion on box???
"Compatible with Win 7", well, new products nowadays don't need to kep telling that it is compatible with Win 7, but 8.1, 10...

Or the fact the instructions are pngs printed on a piece of paper.
Or that this is the reference card: http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/graphics/2014/02/18/nvidia-geforce-gtx-750-ti-review/3

Yeah, seller is scammer 99% but buyers still rate him OK because how would they know?
Maybe even in program it says differently (some sort of info change or, I don't know really)?

I think you are in some form of denial. I feel for people that get reamed like that. However, in this case I can say almost definitively that it isn't a fake.

That is not a retail box. If it were retail there would be a 3rd party manufacturer such as EVGA or MSI. Hence my conclusion that it was an OEM offering hence the lack of information.

Let's dig. You are convinced it is fake. I respect your dissenting view. I am convinced it is not a fake. Did you download MSI Afterburner and perform that test? It IS performing as expected. Another way to brush this cat's fur is with https://www.techpowerup.com/gpuz/ . If you install and open it you will see your GFX card's info. Now, click on LOOKUP in the top right hand corner of that window. What does it tell you the card is?

Yeah OP , do as said, but I still suspect that it is fake, but anyway.

While GPU-Z is a viable way to check a cards info, the digital information can be faked to appear as correct.

Just as I wrote, I agree with you.

So you have a seller with over 99.7 approval rating. You return with a video with less than 50% approval rating and only 30,000 views. Not really helping.

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is frigging OLD. DDR2?????? Cmon man....This is getting bad. VERY bad. WIll continue to see if I can find the diamond in the rough.

Okay. You sent us to some poor guy that got duped. PLEASE help me out here. How does his Vamery "WHICH SCREAMS FAKE, according to the little bit of research I have just done) card have ANYTHING to do with your 750Ti? Just because they are selling fake Gucci bags doesn't mean my Armani suit is fake.

http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-2696189/vamery-gtx750-gpu.html is more proof that that video is real. There are other posts over at Nvidia, TOm's Hardwar ( http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-2696189/vamery-gtx750-gpu.html) and other sites which says that IS a fake.

I have offered instructions twice now. It is up to you to do some legwork as well. Nothing is looking shady with that card. Your expectations were too high. Bitter and huge pill to swallow. One of life's lesson's. Maybe come here BEFORE you purchase your next GFX card.

Man, I am not even OP in this thread...

You have my apologies. You were on the other side and received some misdirected fire. I did not mean to incur any collateral damage. I apologize for getting too trigger happy.

Even in the links, jsut because the name of the card is faked, the shades/clock speed, etc, all aren't faked and can be matched to the card that was faked. Also, not all BIOS's can be overwritten and name changed as well, again, just because one happened, doesn't all do.

As said, it's probably a low end GPU from a OEM like Dell or Asus even that is chopped down in all respects to bare minimums. They don't have any books or CD's when sold to Dell a million at a time, so the seller at least included that.

Run GPU-Z, post full screen shots. Or keep assuming it's a fake. Again that seller would not have the Ebay rating they have if they sold fakes all the time. Just wouldn't happen. Sell on Ebay to learn how it really works.

No problem :)
